Flamingos 2 Go is having a contest to find the top two schools to win a free teacher appreciation yard display! Most action is happening on Facebook, but some folks are not on FB. So I am going to show the posts here, and any non-FB people can post here to get their school nominated. Sorry the formatting is all messed up. Post on Facebook why your school is the best, and why you want to win this for your school.
Please include your school name, location & the best person to contact if your school wins.
Send this to everyone you know at your school, and have them do the same thing. The more posts for your school, the more votes you will get. If you have photos or stories, include them.
Contest deadline is Thursday, April 28 at Noon
Winning schools announced Friday, April 29 by 2:00pm
The winning schools will need to have a representative pick up the yard display from my location in League City (off of League City Parkway & Tuscan Lakes Blvd.).
The display will need to be returned after school on your designated day.
Be sure to tell your PTA, principal & anyone else who loves your school!

Seabrook teachers rock! It makes me happy when my kiddo can't wait to get out the door for school each morning, and when she's excited to share her day each afternoon.
Whitcomb Elementary School has some of the best teachers, principals, aides, and staff I've ever seen. They care about the quality of education they teach and about each and every student at the school.
GO WHITCOMB GIRAFFES!!!! My child is in kindergarten and she LOVES school...Thanks to her great teacher!! My child cries when she is sick because she may have to miss going to school. That's means a great deal to me!
FPE Teachers are wonderful and create such a warm environment for our children. My daughter, Elle, in 1st Grade doesn't want to go on to 2nd Grade because she doesn't want to leave her teacher, Mrs. Sanders!!! We love our teachers!!!
I attended Whitcomb Elementary as a kid. My mom has served as a parent, substitute, and teacher at Whitcomb for over 32 years! She has seen many changes, but I don't think she has ever seen pink flamingos in the yard of the school! I know first hand, how hard she works. She stays late every night and works at home for hours planning a......nd preparing. In addition, I know she cares about all the students and has their best interest in her heart. I know there are many hard working teachers and staff at Whitcomb that deserve a "flock" of thank you's for all they do. She has one more year left before retiring. What a wonderful memory this would be! See More
Whitcomb Elementary School teachers and staff are an awesome group of people. They truly care about their students and deserve some appreciation for all they do.
I believe that the teachers & staff of Whitcomb Elementary deserve this -- they all go above and beyond for every single student. The principals, teachers, paraprofessionals, librarians, gym coaches, art & music teachers, aides, janitors & everyone in between...Whitcomb has the greatest staff ever!!!
I am a Seabrook Intermediate Alum and have a niece who will attend in 2013....I went to SIS in the early 80's and live in Indiana now....I still have contact with some of the teachers and friends I made while in middle school!!! Some of my best memories....Go Spartans!!!
Seabrook Intermediate is amazing!! My daughter has great teachers that care about helping her have a successful year. The teachers, counselors, and principals are all very easy to get in touch with anytime I have a question. I wish my intermediate school had been as wonderful as SIS!!
Seabrook Intermediate School teachers are always there - for the students and parents. The entire school supports the extra school activities whether it be a dance, a picnic, or a talent show. No matter the question or concern, the teachers, staff and administrators have always taken the time to help. They make Seabrook a fun learning environment. Go Seabrook!
Falcon Pass Elementary teachers and staff continually go the extra mile for our children. Each day they bring enthusiasm, caring and compassion to all the students!
Whitcomb Elementary is a winning campus in my heart! Our teachers are top notch not only for their teaching ability but for the love they have for each student and our community. My kindergartener and third grader are always ready to go to school because they have fun. My sixth grader still keeps in contact with his Whitcomb teachers. I believe it takes a village to raise a family. I am very blessed to have my Whitcomb Elementary family in our lives.
Whitcomb Elementary is a very deserving winner! The school has awesome teachers and staff, and they all genuinely care for our children! With the principal being out for health reasons, the entire staff has truly gone above and beyond for all of the kids this year. I have a third grader at Whitcomb, and each year he has had the BEST teachers! It would be great to show them how much they are appreciated!
Whitcomb Elementary should absolutely be a winner. The teachers and staff are awesome! My daughter is in third grade and has had the BEST teachers every year. They definitely go above and beyond for our kids. My littlest will be in kindergarten next year and is already a part of the Whitcomb "family". Can't wait to see what great strides they continue to make in the years to come!
Gilmore Elementary should be a clear winner. Our teachers and staff go above and beyond to make sure their kids are supported in every way possible. You can truly tell the teachers are in it because they love our kids and not just to have a job. We really do appreciate each and every person up at Gilmore!
Whitcomb Elementary School definitely deserves to win! The teachers and staff have been working hard teaching the kiddos and getting them ready for TAKS this week, along with going above and beyond their duties to support the principal in her fight. I think it would be a wonderful thank you for all they have done this year and show how much we all appreciate them!
My choice for this award would be Whitcomb Elementary School. My grandsons go there and they have had amazing teachers every year. The oldest, Cody, will go to Westbrook Intermediate next year in the WAVE program thanks to the great teaching and encouragement he has received every year since kindergarten. The younger one, Cory, just tested at the top of his class in math and has the BEST teacher in the entire world. All the teachers at Whitcomb show appreciation and encouragement to the students every day and I think it's time to show some back to them.
Whitcomb Elementary School has the BEST teachers and staff! Despite a challenging year, these teachers are helping their "giraffe's" reach the top! While Principal Gail Boyes is fighting breast cancer, these teachers are fighting to keep their students focused on learning. The teachers recently treated Gail to a flock of flamingos when she returned from a hospital stay, and I think the teachers deserve a special treat as well! Let's show them how much we appreciate them!

Seabrook Intermediate should definitely win! The school is one of the best intermediate schools in the district with some of the most awesome teachers! The school reaches a wide range of children from every walk of life and the teachers and staff are wonderful when it comes to reaching every student at their level. I have seen the teachers in action when it comes to helping students. The administration is wonderful and is alway available to parents. This would be a great treat for Teacher Appreciation Week!
